Tajma Ha

This cenote, has a lot to offer both for caverns and cave divers, it is located 26 km south of Playa del Carmen and 5 km south of Puerto Aventuras. The cavern tour leads the diver from the entrance to a spacious room below an air-filled bat cave. Here the light enters through the holes in the ceiling and penetrates the water like laser beams during the summer months. Along the cavern floor you will find hundreds of stalactites in the sediment. Perhaps it is the result of a catalytic event?

Continuing with the dive, you enter the sugar bowl, a second small cenote where you can see an incredible light show on sunny days. Tajma Ha is decorated with stalactites and stalagmites and you can find many hidden fossils if you search for them. Dark lines in the deeper areas create mirror-like effects as divers penetrate the saltwater layer. which is under fresh water. Ask your cave guide to take you to the Chinese Garden.
