In the state of Quintana Roo, we can find such a diverse marine ecosystem comparable to the jungle ecosystems that abound in this state.

It is the second largest Coral Reef in the world with a size of 1000 kilometers, of which 300 kilometers are located in the Mexican Caribbean.

A great diversity of marine flora and fauna coexists in complete harmony in these waters, it is estimated that 25% of marine life is housed in these ecosystems. In addition to being home to an impressive amount of marine life, it also serves as a natural protection against the effects of erosion, waves and hurricanes.

It has more than 500 species of fish, 65 varieties of stone coral, 350 species of mollusks and many other crustaceans. The great Mayan reef is a place worth visiting for its grandeur, beauty and natural underwater paradise.
